Lovers in a dangerous time

Remember this song? Erin reminded me today...watching the video is like going down memory lane for me. The video was filmed where I grew up, in Scarborough. Living in the cultured streets of Montreal, it's easy to forget that this is where I spent my childhood.

...Wow, so many memories..It was a good childhood though, wasn't it ? Hiding under school protables with your 6-pack, riding the Finch bus...the Cliff... Need I go on. Miss you.

OMIGOD. I love that song. Back when the Barenaked Ladies were like, 16 years old. Ah, c'est beau la jeunesse. Remember those big wool sweaters, like the guitar guy is wearing!?!?! I had one of those. I even had his hair at one point.

Miss you too V. Isn't it wonderful to have friends who remember holding your hair when you got drunk for the first time in highschool? Of course I remember the Cliff, and the Finch bus, and portables with 6-packs and B-Ts.
I can't say I ever had a sweater like that though. I had plaid shirts instead. A little preppy I was.

The BNL version of "Lovers in a Dangerous Time" has to be my all time favourite song... Something about it goes in and gets me really really deep inside. I guess I also have a lot of history with this song...
A tear in my eye, but a smile on my face.

merci...

Bruce Cockburn's version was filmed not too far away - in Oakville. Pretty cool, eh? :)
